Blogging vs Micro-blogging vs Logging

In the last couple of years, I’ve maintained one or two personal blogs, they were almost never updated because I just couldn’t keep up with feeding them the frequent dose of full length articles required, I was either too busy or too lazy.

Hold that thought
Full blogging requires a lot of work and discipline and a little bit of concentration while micro-blogging on the other hand is easy, can be spontaneous and can express just a single line of thought, I can do it all day without qualms.

The compromise
Though it’s easier for me to micro-blog (which I do daily at Yinkuze) I sometimes wish I could use more than 140 characters (the maximum allowed in micro-blogging) to express what’s on my mind. I have therefore created this page to log those ‘3 or 4 paragraphs line-of-thoughts’ of mine (like the one you are reading now).

Platform
I’m using Tumblr (again) and it’s just about the best tool for doing this kind of thing, I can also post links, quotes, MP3s and embed videos like that **snaps fingers**. It’s also got a great iphone app (Tumblerette) which means I can do my thing anywhere, anytime.
